Urgency vs Scarcity
Urgency is time pressure: "offer ends tonight." Scarcity is supply pressure: "only 50 left." Both exploit loss aversion, but they work on different triggers and can be combined for a stronger response.
The risk is fake urgency. Claiming an "expiring" offer that never expires trains your audience to ignore you — and aggressive urgency language is a classic spam-filter trigger. Real, verifiable deadlines and quantities outperform invented ones every time.
