Connect Sendgrid to Email Calculator

Follow this step-by-step guide to integrate your Sendgrid account and start analyzing your email campaigns

Get Your SendGrid API Key

  1. Log in to your SendGrid account
  2. Navigate to Settings in the left sidebar
  3. Click on API Keys
  4. Click the Create API Key button
  5. Give your key a name (e.g., "Email Calculator")
  6. Select Read Access permissions for Stats
  7. Click Create & View
  8. Copy your API key immediately (it won't be shown again)

⚠️ Important Security Note

Never share your API key publicly or commit it to version control. Treat it like a password.

Connect to Email Calculator

  1. Go to your Email Calculator Settings page
  2. Find the API Integrations section
  3. Click Connect SendGrid
  4. Paste your API key into the field
  5. Click Verify & Save
  6. Wait for the green checkmark confirmation

We only read email statistics and campaign data. We never send emails or modify your SendGrid account.

Create Your First Report

  1. Navigate to your Dashboard
  2. Click the + New Report button
  3. Select SendGrid as your platform
  4. Choose a date range for your analysis
  5. Select which metrics to track
  6. Click Generate Report

Common Questions

Why isn't my API key working?

Double-check that you've copied the complete API key without any extra spaces. Ensure the key has read permissions for campaign and statistics data. If issues persist, try generating a new API key in your SendGrid account.

Why don't I see any campaigns or data?

Make sure you have sent campaigns within your selected date range. Some platforms may take a few minutes to update their API data after sending. Also verify that your API key has the correct permissions to access campaign statistics.

What if I'm getting timeout or rate limit errors?

Most email platforms have API rate limits to protect their servers. If you're experiencing timeouts, try selecting a shorter date range or wait a few minutes before generating another report. For large accounts with many campaigns, consider breaking your analysis into smaller time periods.

Is my data secure?

Yes. We only request read-only access to your campaign statistics. We never have permission to send emails, modify campaigns, or access subscriber personal data. Your API key is encrypted and stored securely. You can revoke access at any time from your SendGrid account.

Can I disconnect my account later?

Absolutely. You can disconnect your SendGrid account anytime from your Email Calculator settings page. Simply remove the integration and your API key will be deleted from our system. You can also revoke the API key directly in your SendGrid account.
