Definition
Shared IPs are the default for most email platforms. Multiple customers send through the same IP pool, which means one sender's poor practices can affect everyone on that IP. Dedicated IPs give you exclusive control but require warmup and consistent volume to maintain reputation. Shared IPs work well for senders with lower volume (under 100,000 per month) and those who prefer not to manage IP reputation. Dedicated IPs are better for high-volume senders, transactional email, and senders with strict deliverability requirements.
